Information
Upcoming Groups
The upcoming Tryout Encounter Groups will be held in person in Amsterdam, at the Volkshotel.

Groups will only take place if the minimum number of participants is reached.

Generally, I offer two trial groups per month: one on the first Thursday and one on the third Tuesday of the month, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Frequency and duration
A typical Encounter Group cycle lasts six months, with two 90-minute sessions per month. However, given the significant time commitment, participants are offered the opportunity to join tryout Encounter Groups.

These sessions, while identical to standard Encounter Groups, are self-contained events: the group begins and ends on the same day. This format is designed to allow participants to experience the group dynamic with a smaller time investment and decide whether they wish to commit to a full cycle.

Encounter Groups
What are they
Encounter Groups are supportive spaces designed to promote personal growth. Facilitated by a therapist, they aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where participants feel free to be their authentic selves. The therapist does not provide advice, solutions, or specific directions but encourages the exploration of emotions, needs, and thoughts, both individually and within the group.

The main goal is to facilitate genuine and meaningful connections between participants. When this occurs, it can be a deeply transformative experience. Encounter Groups can help individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves, improve communication and interpersonal relationships, and approach life’s challenges and difficulties with greater awareness.

Who are they for
Encounter Groups are open to everyone, regardless of age, background, or life path. They are not strictly therapeutic groups: there is no need to have a specific issue or be in therapy to participate.

They are designed for individuals who want to explore themselves, improve their interpersonal relationships, and develop greater self-awareness. The welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere allows everyone to express themselves freely and authentically, without the pressure of "doing the right thing" or meeting expectations. Everyone is welcome just as they are.

What are they for
Participating in an Encounter Group can have multiple beneficial effects, such as:
